This project investigates bacterial cellulose derived from fermented kombucha as an innovative and sustainable alternative to traditional leather materials. These living garments are designed to host edible plants and photosynthetic organisms, effectively transforming clothing into a dynamic, wearable ecosystem that not only purifies the air but also produces food. Presented through an immersive and interactive fashion show, where certain parts of the outfits are edible, Living Garments provocatively challenges our conventional relationship to consumption, fashion, and the environment, encouraging a more mindful and symbiotic interaction with the natural world.
